Quartz countertops, also called engineered stone, are made from crushed quartz mixed with a small amount of resin. The manufacturing process allows for a wider variety of colors and patterns and a more consistent appearance than natural stone. Quartz has a finish with a depth that solid surface materials cannot produce. Because it is manufactured, quartz does not contain defects.
