Due to budget restraints it was decided to keep within the existing footprint of the upper cabinets to avoid extensive ceiling and sheet metal repair. By utilizing open rounded shelves at the end of the ceiling sofits the upper and lower cabinets appear to look balanced while extending the lower cabinet and countertop length. This 1990’s kitchen lacked the storage, features and functionality desired by the home owner; a busy mom and avid cook. She also wanted an open space, integrating the adjacent living and dining rooms. A non-load bearing wall was removed between the old kitchen and the living room and was replaced with a dramatic arched soffit, complete with decorative columns. New maple cabinets are complimented by granite countertops and a stone backsplash set in a brick pattern. Read More...

This small bath off the master bedroom lacked privacy, needed more storage, a more open feel and updated amenities. The homeowners wanted a “spa-like” feel that was modern, yet worked with the architecture of their home, which was built in the 1960’s. Create a design that would compliment the overall prairie style theme though out the existing home. Increase additional storage, enlarge the shower’s footprint, and improve the overall lighting. The original foot print of room could only be slightly modified due to the concrete walls and floor. The second floor’s air supply utilized ceiling sofits that visually restricted the vanity appearance. The tub needed to be enlarged and the planter box was wasted space. Read More...

Instead of spending more money for less space and moving to maintenance free living these owners made the decision to remain in their lovely 1960’s 2 ½ bath ranch style home. These homeowners decided to renovate both of their full bathrooms with HIS and HER baths in mind.
